Women in Fish and Chips Announces Early 2022 Speakers

Women in Fish and Chips (WiFC) has announced the theme ‘Building Better Businesses and Teams’ for its 2022 conference taking place on February 28th in Birmingham.

A handful of the UK’s top fryers will gather for the event organised by JJ Foodservice to share advice on topics ranging from menu ideas and branding to digital innovation.

Calum Richardson, Owner of The Bay Fish & Chips, a £1.5 million shop that’s leading the way on environmental initiatives, will address how businesses can be more sustainable.

Running entirely on 100% renewable energy, the shop uses compostable packaging, zero-emission vehicles and is the highest-rated fish and chip shop accredited by the Sustainable Restaurant Association. Calum will reveal the motivation behind such a huge investment and how it’s paying off.

While everyone knows how important front-of-house innovation is, Kaylee Herbert, Director of Harlees says don’t leave the back of house behind!

With seven shops across Dorset and Wiltshire, Kaylee is helping to modernise operations by introducing automated, digital processes for everything from supplier forms to performance reviews.

Sarah Heward, Founder & Director of The Real Food Café in Tyndrum will chair the day.

WiFC is an annual event organised by JJ Foodservice to help inspire, support, and connect women working in the fish and seafood sector.

The event is free for shop owners and managers. Tickets for suppliers cost £150 + VAT.
