JJ Supports Fish and Chip Shops During COVID-19 Outbreak

National food and drink wholesaler JJ Foodservice has announced it is still supporting fish and chip shop customers that are running a safe delivery or collection service.

Categorised as an ‘essential key worker’ the wholesaler has pledged its support by remaining open for business, following the closures of other major fish and seafood suppliers.

Sezer Ozkul, Chief Products Officer for JJ Foodservice said, “This is an unprecedented situation for everyone involved. We would like to assure the industry that our team are still operating day and night, 24/7 to support the shops that are providing a safe delivery or collection service.”

To support shops to operate safely, JJ is waiving the start-up costs of its restaurant website service, which will enable takeaways to take orders in advance for collection or delivery.

“It is critical that takeaways adhere to the government guidelines of having a pre-ordering system in place, helping to provide meals safely to vulnerable people who may not be able to leave their homes,” said Sezer.

More information on the government guidelines for shops can be found here.
