Top 5 Field to Frier announced for National Fish & Chip Awards 2023

Five fish and chip shops from around the UK, have today been announced as finalists for the ‘Field to Frier’ category, in the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.

The National Fish and Chip Awards have been celebrating the best in the industry for over thirty years, and the Field to Frier category recognises businesses for their excellence in potato knowledge, care and chip preparation.

The top five business shortlisted are:

Pier Point Fish & Chips, Torquay

Seafare Guildford, Guildford

Fish Kitchen 1854, Maesycwmmer

Fiddlers Elbow Fish & Chips, Leintwardine

The Real Food Cafe, Tyndrum

The Field to Frier category is sponsored by leading potato supplier, Isle of Ely Produce in partnership with Babylon a new variety of chipping potato from Agrico. The awards are hosted by Jason Manford on behalf of the The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), on the 28th of February 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

Oliver Boutwood director of Isle of Ely Produce said “We have looked to raise knowledge across the industry right the way from seed to storage and frying of potatoes. This award recognises best practice and we congratulate those who have made it this far.”

Although the guest list is mainly industry-focused, tickets are open to the general public and discounted accommodation is available with ticket sales.
