Smales Re-Opening – Details.

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Smales Re-opening

In recent days we have taken a significant number of calls from shops that are now adapted and ready to reopen, with more set to follow in the coming weeks. As the UK’s largest supplier of Frozen At Sea Cod & Haddock fillets direct to Fish & Chip shops we are responding as quickly as we can to deliver fish to fryers, but we must do this in a structured way which ensures the safety of our staff and the customers we deliver to is never compromised.

With this in mind, we can confirm that we will now resume a streamlined delivery service through some of our own depots and also via trusted third-party distribution partners. By initially opening with a reduced service and staffing level we can ensure our employees are able to work at safe social distances. To keep our drivers safe and to give peace of mind the customers they are taking goods to, all deliveries are to be contactless. This means our drivers will unload the goods outside the premises and make sure that someone is aware that the products have arrived and are accepted before leaving. We ask that all customers respect this procedure until government instructions deem it safe to do otherwise, and please be assured that are drivers are fully aware of the extra hygiene precautions they need to take as they carry out their work and have the necessary resources to do this.

Our sales office is now open with significantly reduced staffing level to receive calls from anyone who wishes to find out if we can arrange a delivery to their business. As you will all no doubt appreciate we are all still living in very restrictive times, and therefore we will be operating with fewer employees than normal and lead times or delivery days will not necessarily be the same as they were prior to our closure. We would be grateful of your patience and flexibility so that we can ensure we provide the best possible service to customers.

Over the coming days and weeks we will continue to assess the practicality of expanding our delivery service further and any changes will again be communicated via our social media.

Finally we would like to say a huge thank you for all the kinds words and messages of support we have received in the weeks since we announced our temporary closure.

Lee & Simon Smales
