Fish and chips shop owners and staff looking to celebrate Seafood Week on their premises can download Seafood Week bunting and a string of other promotional materials at the website

Seafood Week is a free opportunity to promote your business and benefit from the eight-day celebration. The partnership allows businesses to show support for Seafood Week while also advertising their products or services. There is also a map on the website for companies to upload information about their business.

National Fish and Chip Awards winners Simpsons were on board for the first time last year and used the campaign as a way of launching their own social media competition. They created a Seafood Week fish and chip memory board in-store with postcards for their customers to fill out and pin on, containing their memories and thoughts about fish and chips, using the hashtag #fishandchipmemories.

The competition enjoyed considerable media pick-up online from their memory board and even attracted a number of celebrities who shared their memories too. The benefits of this were that it got people talking and thinking about fish and chips – which often leads to people buying fish and chips!

Simpsons have signed up for Seafood Week 2016. To join them, visit and sign up at the My Seafood Week section.

Seafish Marketing Manager Heather Middleton said: “Now is the perfect time to sign up for Seafood Week. It’s a fantastic opportunity for businesses and brands to celebrate fish and get the public excited about seafood.

“There is no charge or fee for getting involved – it’s all about encouraging more people to eat more fish more often.

“It’s very easy to get involved and we have plenty of marketing materials that will help businesses of all sizes get involved.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”sticky-container “][mnky_ads id=”2782”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
