George’s Great British Kitchen is coming to the city centre this year. An “upscale fish ‘n’ chips” restaurant is opening in Liverpool – offering charcoal grilled fish and steak, posh scotch eggs and a mac and cheese feast burger!
George’s Great British Kitchen is a family-run business that already has restaurants in Nottingham, Newcastle and Leeds. Now the proper pub grub restaurant is coming to Liverpool city centre – with a Paradise Street branch opening early in September.
The menu includes all sorts of gastro pub style delights, including a chicken schnitzel burger, a “cod dog” take on the classic hot dog and a range of delicious dish dishes, pies and steaks from the charcoal grill. As well as serving up tasty British classics, George’s Gin bar offers incredible cocktails and signature serves, using British gin and vodka.
George’s was founded by two childhood friends, Andrew and Nick, who named the restaurant after Andrew’s father George.
After building successful award winning fish and chip shops, Andrew and Nick both had a vision of adapting traditional British classics we all know and love, and adding a unique twist to each one of the dishes.
Andrew said: “Nick and I are both family people and so we wanted a visit to our restaurant to bring back all those best childhood memories of enjoying ice cream by the sea and tucking into freshly made doughnuts and exploring all that’s best about the British coast.
“With that being said though, the classic British fish and chips are just a small part of our menu!
“Our menu offers buckets of variety, with many dishes fusing flavours from various corners of Britain, including our ham hock and mushy pea fritters, covered in crunchy seaweed batter and served with wasabi mayonnaise. “Also our cauliflower and mushroom jalfrezi pie, which pays homage to some of Britain’s favourite cuisines”.
“It goes without saying that only the best ingredients will make it to our kitchen. We cook all of our food using carefully sourced ingredients, with no additives. Simple, honest, good food with a unique twist.”
As well as juicy burgers, proper scampi and onion bhaji battered hake there’s range of tasty desserts to on the menu.
You’ll certainly want to save room for sweet shop inspired ice cream, freshly made doughnuts and warm Cadbury’s fudge finger rolls, as well as a decedent dessert sharer.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”sticky-container “][mnky_ads id=”3659”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
