Holland’s Pies’ new BIG EATS range is now available in over 1,300 chip shops across the North West, following a fantastic response to customer trials.
Providing chip shop customers with approx. 25% more pie, without any cost increase or change to the recipe, the deeper filled pies are currently on sale throughout the Holland’s heartland with a second phase planned to launch in areas such a Cumbria, North Wales and Cheshire over the coming weeks.
Exclusive to chip shop customers, the BIG EATS range features three of Holland’s Pies’ most popular flavours – Potato & Meat, Steak & Kidney, Cheese & Onion and, brand new to the chip shop range, award-winning Peppered Steak. By introducing this exclusive range, Holland’s hopes to provide its loyal and longstanding chippy customers with a competitive edge whilst ensuring consumers get greater value for their money.
Chip shops that purchase pies from the new BIG EATS range can expect a full point of sale support package to help promote the new range of pies as well as social media and press support to ensure consumers are aware of the added value available. The pack will include an A2 poster detailing the new range and a counter top strut card.
Response from the chip shops involved in the initial trial has been overwhelmingly positive, with a host of customers applauding the new initiative. Umbertos Chippy of Preston praised the added value passed on to consumers. He said: “They [Big Eat Pies] are going down very well, customers love the extra value”.
Lynda Bellfield of Bellfield’s Fish & Chips, Burnley, said: “The new bigger pies have been very well received with our customers and we’ve seen a marked increase in sales on the Cheese & Onion pie and Potato & Meat pies. We’re really pleased with the new range.” The Todmordan Chippy exclaimed that they were “much happier now with the bigger pies”.
Chris Clark, Van Sales Manager at Lancashire baker Holland’s Pies, said: “In order to maintain the long-standing relationships we enjoy with our chip shop customers, we know how important it is to listen and understand the challenges they face in today’s market.
“Research shows that shoppers are shopping around more to make the most of their budgets and also that they love our signature taste. With this in mind, we worked hard to develop a product that would allow chip shops to differentiates themselves. Being able to offer a bigger pie, with the same great taste, at no extra cost is something we were very passionate about.
