Family run G.M. Jones and Sons sadly closes, but it's business as usual for Pukka!

A UK food distributor, G.M. Jones and Sons, has gone into liquidation after nearly four decades of trading. The company were a key distributor of Pukka Pies.

The decision to enter liquidation comes despite the Staffordshire-based company reporting year-on-year sales growth on its website.

Timothy Frank Corfield of Griffin & King has been appointed liquidator.

The comapny delivered pies and other items acrosss the midlands to

  • Fish and Chip Shops

  • Sporting venues

  • Cafes

  • Farm shops

  • Mobile Snack Bars

  • Pubs And Clubs

  • Butchers

  • Bakeries

  • Freezer shops

We contacted Pukka to see how it might affect chippies across the GM Jones delivery area, and they said.

“G.M. Jones are one of many suppliers of Pukka Pies. We want to reassure chip shops that there is no impact on the availability of Pukka products. Supply remains strong nationwide through our established network of wholesalers.

As one of our valued wholesale customers for many years, it’s sad to see them – particularly a fellow family-run company – facing challenges in today’s competitive market.

We’ve worked closely with customers to help them transition smoothly to alternative suppliers, so chip shops across the UK can continue to serve Pukka products as usual.”

If you still have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Pukka representative or call 0116 264 4000.
