Fish and Chip Awards Ticket News Latest
Soon it will be time for the best fish and chip shops to be honoured at the esteemed 2025 NFFF National Fish and Chip Awards, and it’s a must do occasion for any chip shop owner or supplier to attend.
The awards celebrate excellence throughout the fish and chip industry both on home shores and internationally. They will be held on February 26th at the iconic Plaza Hotel Westminster, London, and there are still a few tickets still available here, priced from just £230!
Assembled on the day will be past winners, judges, award nominees and of course suppliers from across the industry many of whom who sponsor the awards.
TV favourite Matt Baker MBE has been announced as the official host of the awards. BAFTA award winner Matt is best known for presenting TV shows such as the BBC’s The One Show, Blue Peter and Countryfile, and more recently Channel 4’s Our Farm in The Dales, Travels with Mum and Dad. He is also a big champion of sustainable farming growing up on an organic farm owned by his family in the Northeast of England.

Andrew Crook, president of the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), which organises the awards, says: “We’re thrilled to have Matt on board, his approach to his work really aligns with our own within the fish and chip industry.
“Sustainability and the environment are key focuses for us this year, and with the support of our main sponsor, Seafood from Norway, our aim is to push the message that it is possible to invest in more long-term sustainable practices whilst creating more cost-effective approaches to operations. We are extremely confident that Matt will do an excellent job of harnessing this ethos on the night and coupled with his natural ability to relate to any audience, he will be very popular with our guests on the night.

“Every year, our deliberation over who we would like to MC at the awards is a big one, as this role can be quite daunting and, considering this is the industry’s biggest event on the calendar, it’s not to be taken lightly. Over the last couple of years, we have enlisted high-profile comedians who have always done a fantastic job but this year, we wanted to take a different approach and with Matt’s TV credentials and passion for the natural world, we’re confident he’s the right man for the job.”

Traditionally the day kicks off with drinks reception around 11am, followed by a wonderful three course dinner. The awards follow, and then onto a reserved bar area for networking into the evening with a chance to chat to the winners, fellow shop owners and suppliers alike.

Chippy Chat Editor Austen Dack said. “With over 550 people already attending it will be the place to be seen, for those who aspire to go on and win awards in future years it will give you a great insight on what it takes as you will see first hand the winners crowned, and if you are a supplier to meet over 40 of the best shop owners in the UK under one roof and also to see just some of the benefits available as part of being an award’s sponsor!”
Many people think it is just open to nominated shops and sponsors, but I would suggest to anyone involved in our industry it is one of those must attend occasions.”
