Thanks to all shops and suppliers who turned out for our annual open day at Isle of Ely Produce and Chippy Chat. It was a hot weekend but still shop owners travelled for upto ten hours to come and see us at the farm. It was great to see both new shops and those who have been before. Our presenters offered some valuable advice across a range of subjects,

We were welcomed by NFFF President Andrew Crook who was joined on stage by National Fish & Chip Award overall champion Geoff Whitehead. Sarah Heward from the Real Food Cafe did a double stage stint talking about Gluten Free Fortnight, and her success in the Field to Frier award category. Our potato experts Oliver Boutwood & Mike Neaverson gave their best estimates for the potato crop for the year ahead. Suppliers on stage included Nick Hucker from Qikserve, Sean Farry from Oil Chef plus Victoria Braathen from Seafood From Norway.
Fish and chips were served to the guests from award winning mobile Pimp My Fish, with Norwegian Cod supplied by Smales and Seafood from Norway. Guests also enjoyed a McWhinney's sausage with their meal too. In the evening over 40 people stayed in Ely and enjoyed a networking meal together, with the pre dinner drinks sponsored by Qik Serve/Preoday.
