Last night chip shop owners and suppliers from across the UK gathered on Facebook Live for the inaugural live from Market Deeping ‘Quiz of the week’. The show was hosted by KFE’s very own Paul ‘the quizmaster’ Williams, ably assisted by the star of the show Avi ‘Costume Change’ McGhee. The theme of the quiz (as most fish and chip get togethers are) was to have a laugh and of course a few drinks.
On the virtual ‘top table’ was Northern Team Flat Cap and Whippet (NFFF President AC).
I joined in round three (sorry I was late), but soon overtook the likes of Barry ‘Tequilla’ Dickman, and Des ‘is he still locked in the cupboard’ Anastasiou.
There were a few birthdays in the ‘room’ notably Stuart Divine celebrating his 50th birthday with his extended KFE family. Some of the comments were hilarious (and mostly unprintable), and it was nice to get the notorious Richard Ord Junior’s fountain dive question correct too.
Paul Williams said he was thrilled to see so many people getting together in such tough times. “We will get through this, and we are all suffering but doing the right thing.”
At the conclusion controversy courted as the scores were totted up. ‘Tiny’ Tim Barnes posted an unseen 43 (although nobody seemed to take my 55 seriously). The two ‘winners’ Lesley and Craig with 40 were both deemed victorious but as always at the end of the quiz, team fish and chips was the real winner.
The hosts ended with a rousing ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ before signing off.
This weeks quiz has already had over 1300 views. If you missed it keep an eye on the KFE facebook page for the next one.
Cheers Paul and Avi – Same time same place next Friday? I think I’m in that night.
