It's here! The eagerly awaited NFFF National Fish & Chip Awards speical Chippy Chat is out now. First we publish online followed by our printed edition which will be through your doors soon. To read our special awards issue click HERE.
Over 34 pages we list every winner, runner up and crucially every sponsor of the awards. Without the financial help of the industry this event just simply wouldn't happen. The NFFF team spend most of the year putting this one day together. They work in their own time for FREE, often having to pay for extra staff in their own businesses. Congratulations to Andrew Crook, Josette Foster, Lesley Graves & Caroline Murphy for putting on such a brilliant show for team fish & chips. To read our special awards issue click HERE.
On the evening before the awards all of the sponsors and lots of the nominated shops were invited to a very special event at Parliament,Westminster. The evening wa sponsored by Oilchef. Our journey took us through Westminster Hall which is the oldest building on the Parliamentary estate. What makes it such an astonishing building is not simply its great size and the magnificence of its roof, but its central role in British history. In and around the Hall, grew up the major institutions of the British state: Parliament, the law courts and various government offices.
Closely involved in the life of the nation since the 11th century, a journey through the Hall's past is a journey through 900 fascinating years of our history. To read our special awards issue click HERE.
The National Fish & Chip awards main sponsor is Seafood from Norway. On the day before the awards I attended their annual 2024 Norway-UK Seafood Summit at Fishmongers Hall, London. With over 200 delegates it was a day packed with insight, panel debates and presentations from experts across the seafood industry combined with ample networking opportunities too. The day was led with bilateral updates from the Norwegian Minister for Fisheries and Ocean
Policy, Cecilie Myrseth, and the UK Minister for Food, Farming and Fisheries, Rt Hon
Mark Spencer, on how the two countries are working together, with joint efforts to
further strengthen and develop seafood trade and relations.

It was good to see so many people in the room on the day! Over 600 people attended this showcase event, I think i spoke to most of them. Many just wanted to put their message across and I think this one sent to me by Kraft Heinz sums up the day well!
