Behold these battered pigs in blankets which this Hull chippy chain is giving away for free.
Papas restaurants will be handing out the free festive dish today as part of their 12 days of Christmas deals and giveaways.
Dino Papas, who owns the fish and chip chain with his dad Sid and brother George, said the family are running the deals to celebrate Hull’s City of Culture year and also to spread some festive cheer this Christmas.
Dino said: “We’ve seen a few fish and chip shops doing battered pigs in blankets and we thought it would be a nice thing for our customers. They are a bit different but they look good and taste incredible.
“Like the battered sprouts, they have proved to be very popular with our customers.”
Dino explained that the festive treats are likely to stay on the menu over the Christmas season.
Dino and his team have also given out free food to Hull’s homeless and will be opening the doors to them on Christmas Day for a festive meal to show some support.
He said: “Giving out the food was very humbling and we have got minibuses sorted to bring homeless people to and from out Willerby restaurant.
“We are big believers in Christmas and we just want to do everything we can.”
