I add a small teaspoon of salt to my batter, I think it makes the batter last longer. It has no effect on the oil.
Tried beer and larger, didn’t like it. Beer are for drinking.:)
Am I the only person who think rapeseed oil smell pretty bad and made everything that fried in it taste a little bitter?
We use QPrestige, which is a blend of Palm oil and duck fat.
Its fatty acid profile (not on Stelios’s list):
Saturated fat: 46%
Mono Unsaturated: 42%
Poly Unsaturated: 12%

It doesn’t has the best figure but it taste very good and that is all that matter.
I am just wondering if the £75 cod that you use are Rammi? We are paying £78 for Rammi skinless pin bone in 18kg(40lb not 45lb!) from Friars Pride. We don’t mind paying a little more (but not a lots more) for Rammi as they a lot better than other brands that we used before. I just a little shock by the under £70 cod that other people are getting.
Is there anyone else here that use Rammi cod and for how much?
It isn’t a letter, they called me out of the blue this morning when I was really busy asking all sort of questions about music I play in my shop. I have no idea what PPL was , I though it was just some company doing some survey or something like that. It wasn’t until near the end that they said they are going to send me a bill then I really know what they are.
My last two bags of Natural was also got some lumps in them. Not sure why, maybe moisture got into the bag. These bags don’t has plastic linen in them.
Sorry I am not being rude here but this forum just seem a bit strange to me!

I think it would be so much easier to follow threads if they don’t sort them out alphabetically.
If you post in other part of this forum other than CATCH OF THE DAY, it is very difficult to follow. New threads need to be on top or it just get lost.

I used to work for my family chinese before I own my chip shop, the foods there cost a lots more.
Chips in the chinese cost twice as much as those in the chip shop and they are frozen chips.
Even plain rice cost ?2 each…
